Cogeninfra on Network Services
Carbon neutrality and decarbonisation of the Group’s district heating networks
In the editorial dedicated to “Servizi a rete” (Network Services), the digital magazine of the Italian utility communications information network, we had the opportunity to outline the current scenario of the Group’s district heating networks actively involved in a process of reducing emissions and consumption.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, together with the Paris Agreements, aim to significantly accelerate the energy transition in order to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.
These principles inspire Cogeninfra’s governance, business strategy and local development projects. District heating can make a fundamental contribution to achieving energy decarbonisation, thanks to the use of renewable sources such as biomass and geothermal energy with the aid of heat pumps, and thus to the transition from the use of fossil fuels to renewable and sustainable sources.
Cogeninfra continues on the path that underpins its mission, with decarbonisation projects and the ambitious goal of having almost all of its plants powered exclusively by renewable sources by 2030.
