HEAT PUMPS
HEAT PUMPS
Reduction in energy consumption and emissions: heat pumps allow you to harness environmental energy and increase the efficiency of the heating system.
High-efficiency solutions for civil, industrial and infrastructure systems: air-water, water-water, integrated solar thermal.
Cogeninfra has undertaken an important initiative for the development and installation of high-temperature heat pumps, an innovative technology that represents a key solution for decarbonisation and increased energy efficiency compared to traditional gas boilers. These heat pumps are capable of producing hot water at temperatures between 70°C and 80°C, allowing them to completely replace gas boilers for heating and domestic hot water production. Thanks to their high efficiency, they represent a viable sustainable alternative that significantly reduces CO2 emissions, contributing to the fight against climate change. A further advantage of this technology is the Conto Termico incentive scheme, a mechanism that allows part of the investment to be recovered, making these interventions not only environmentally beneficial but also economically sustainable. Areas of application:
- Public buildings and schools: replacement of old heating systems to improve comfort and reduce costs.
- Companies and industrial plants: recovery of process heat, heating and cooling with high-power heat pumps.
- Urban infrastructure and networks: integration of heat pumps into district heating or cooling systems to increase the renewable share of the system.
Case History
Upgrade of the heating and cooling plant
The project involved upgrading and modernising the heating and cooling plant serving a renowned hotel. The existing air-water heat pump was replaced with a new unit equipped with a desuperheater for heat recovery, ensuring a cooling capacity of 206 kW, a heating capacity of 214 kW and a recovered capacity of 76.4 kW.
The intervention improved the overall energy efficiency of the structure, achieving total energy savings of approximately 230 MWh/year and a reduction of over 50 tonnes of CO2 per year.
The upgrade improved the overall efficiency of the system and allowed the recovery of condensation heat for the production of domestic hot water, significantly reducing gas and electricity consumption.
